One of Dakota‘s latest project “Sweetness in The Belly“, that premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival was taken by Gravitas Ventures that will be releasing the film in the U.S. digitally on May 8. The first trailer is finally here, so be sure to check it out here below!

Based on the novel by Camilla Gibb, the film follows Lilly, who is forced to flee Ethiopia for England when civil war breaks out. She befriends Amina, an Ethiopian refugee who has fled the same war. Together they begin a mission to reunite people with their scattered families.

Sad news about Dakota‘s newest project “The Nightingale“. The movie, that should have been shot this March, won’t come out in December as planned. Because of Corona Virus the production of the movie had to stop and it’s still not clear when it will start again.

The release date for TriStar’s “The Nightingale,” starring Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning, has now been unset.
In December, TheWrap exclusively reported that Mélanie Laurent (“Galveston”) would direct the period drama from a script by Dana Stevens. Elizabeth Cantillon was to produce through her production company The Cantillon Company. The two sisters were to unite for the first time on screen to play sisters, based on Kristin Hannah’s worldwide best-seller of the same name.
“The Nightingale,” which was in preproduction before worldwide film shoots halted in March, was due to be released on Christmas Day this year. Production is expected to restart once it is safe to do so.
“The Nightingale” follows two sisters coming of age in France on the eve of World War II and their struggle to survive the German occupation of France. The story is inspired by the courageous women of the French Resistance who helped downed Allied airmen escape Nazi-occupied territory and hid Jewish children. – The Wrap

Audible has cast Dakota Fanning to perform in the audio version of Divergent author Veronica Roth’s new novel, Chosen Ones. This will be the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress’ first performance for Audible. “I love audiobooks, so I had my fingers crossed that Audible would do something special with Chosen Ones — and I am definitely not disappointed,” Roth said in a statement. “Sloane is a complex character who needs a strong voice to come alive in audio form, and I think Dakota Fanning is going to knock it out of the park. I’ve been a fan of hers for her entire career, so I’m beyond thrilled.” Roth will also be performing a cameo in the audio version, which is exclusive to Audible. Chosen Ones, Roth’s first adult novel, is due April 7. – The Hollywood Reporter
